About the Item

A wonderful and most decorative Italian Turn of the Century Neo-Classical st. white Carrara marble fountain by Donatello Garbbrielli. This stunning fountain is of a nude maiden seated on a rock formation while holding water jars at the front. Each jar conceals a spout from where water can flow out and into a basin. The jars are held in each hand of the maiden while she gazes downward and displays a charming expression. Wonderful attention to detail throughout. Donatello Gabbrielli (1884–1955) was a Florentine sculptor renowned for his refined marble and bronze works, blending classical craftsmanship with expressive realism. A student and later successor of Cesare Fantacchiotti, Gabbrielli specialized in portraits and allegorical figures distinguished by their elegance and psychological depth, earning him recognition as a Professor at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts.
