About the Item

A spectacular and high quality Italian 19th century Renaissance st. white Carrara marble fountain. This wonderful fountain is raised by a rectangular plinth supporting a top rolled column with an large acanthus leaf and seashell detail. Above the column is the seashell shaped fluted basin with deeply carved bands and scrolled accents. The stunning back plate is decorated with scrolled edge details and is centered by a mask of a young woman with mouth open to allow the water to flow into the basin. The top of the back plate is accentuated by a crown molding below a triangular cap decorated with scrolled edges.
