A beautiful Coalbrookdale Nasturtium pattern cast iron garden seat circa 1870. Rare and interesting, this fabulous Nasturtium chair shown was listed as seat number 44 in the Coalbrookdale Castings Catalogue.The pierced back and sides have a naturalistic design of intertwined nasturtium leaves, flowers and seeds watched over by a classical mask. Fully marked with the lozenge and registration number along with the '44' catalogue mark The cast iron metal seat frame and oak slats having been stripped back to a raw state then finished with a black iron paste and waxed."
