About the Item

Very heavy American cast iron mid-19th century Rococo and neoclassical garden chairs. Original version Lyre-back splat with cabriole legs and foliate scrolls. Unmarked, but most likely cast by the Robert Wood foundry in Philadelphia. Featured in Wood Petot's 1858 catalog featuring original designs for iron chairs, settees, tables and ornamental iron.
