Pair of patented Doncoc garden chairs, Italy, 1950s-60s.
The seats feature a molded tubular metal frame with a finish reminiscent of bamboo knots, and colored synthetic cord weave (one in red/orange shade, the other in light beige).
These chairs fully represent the modernist taste of the Italian economic boom, when innovative materials such as PVC and plastic ropes were used for furniture that was functional, durable, and yet decorative. Today they are sought after as a vintage complement for both outdoor and indoor environments with a retro character.

Raro set da giardino mid-century composto da due poltroncine in tondino di ferro e tavolino coordinato con piano in vetro. Le sedute presentano il caratteristico cestello a bacchette con profilo circolare e base conica irrigidita da anello perimetrale; il tavolino riprende lo stesso disegno strutturale. Verniciatura color bianco d’epoca e cuscini originali (uno arancio, uno verde) che aggiungono una nota pop. Prodotto europeo, verosimilmente francese (anni ’50–’60), appartenente alla famiglia delle “hoop/wire chairs” molto in voga nel dopoguerra per leggerezza, resistenza all’esterno e segno grafico.
