About the Item
Constituting part of Robin Day’s Royal Festival Hall collection, the RFH Terrace Table is crafted from black, powder-coated steel, making it profoundly hardwearing, fade resistant and waterproof. Standing on four legs which splay out at a slight angle, the table is attributed a soft yet industrial appearance.
Powder-coated steel tubing and steel rod, compact high-pressure laminate, acrylic lacquer, melamine resin.
The frame is CNC bent and welded together, before being welded to a 3mm steel plate. The entire leg is electroplated and powder-coated. The table top is made using compact high-pressure laminate with a uniform black-colored core, single-sided decorative acrylic lacquer on the top side and decorative melamine resin surface on the reverse.

DESIGNER
Robin Day
Born and raised in the furniture making town of High Wycombe, Robin Day (1915-2010) grew up surrounded by timber yards and cabinetmaking workshops. After graduating from Royal College of London, his dream of becoming a furniture designer was put on hold due to the outbreak of World War II. He instead developed his skills making drawings and models for architects, signwriting, producing showcards for fashion boutiques and teaching technical drawing and lettering part-time. He later went on to become an established exhibition designer.
