From San Simeon-- from one Tycoon to Another! 16th century Palatial Elizabethan oak carved Linenfold Tracery Paneling. A very rare and unique opportunity to purchase a genuine and highly original almost 400 year old paneling, doors and moldings. sconces and hardware dating from the late 16th Century (Elizabeth I) most certainly the only one of its type currently available. Historic superb wood carved paneling beyond compare removed from the Harkness home library --available for a connoisseur to create a uniquely impressive power decor! 16th century finely carved oak linen fold tracery wainscot paneling panels with a warm luscious aged patina, also, including three-paneled doors, a pair of gothic revival light sconces- including the extensive wood molding surrounds fabricated for installation in the Harkness library to surround the built in library shelving-which is shown insitu photos in the listing. (Provenance: originally from a castle in Essex England purchased and shipped to the U.S. By William Randolph Hearst when he built San Simeon -the excess paneling was purchased from Hearst by Rebecca Harkness- the elder wealthy industrialist William Hale Harkness lent funds to Rockefeller and Flagler to start The Standard Oil Corporation. Rebecca Harkness is the society philanthropic heiress of standard oil fame and fortune.) The paneling is approx: 25 lineal ft. Measurements follow: Three panels: 46.5” X 71.5” H, 49” X 71.5” H, and 63” X 71.5” H. (2) Two-panel panels: 34” X 71.5” H, and 27” X 71” H. (3) Doors: One pair of 24” W x 79” H each linen fold oak paneling on two sides with gold-plated repousse door hardware. One-door: 26” x 80” H with oak linenfold paneling on one side only (the other side is white). Includes a huge amount of matching moldings for installation and trim. Call for further information.
