About the Item

An exceptional and high quality French 19th century Empire st. ormolu mounted on Alabastro Sardonico and black Belgian marble pedestal. The pedestal is raised by a protruding square black Belgian marble and Alabastro base below an A-line designed support, decorated by an ormolu mount of a winged cherub on a chariot flying in the clouds amidst butterflies. The central tapered fut leads to a top mottled band below the ormolu fitted mount of a young man seated on a throne and surrounded by musical instruments and a telescope. Above is the square top shelf.
