About the Item

An elegant and high quality French late 19th century Louis XVI st. Onyx, Ormolu and Champlevé pedestal. This wonderful pedestal is raised by four corner Ormolu supports below a square cream colored Onyx base. Above is the secondary level of the square base embellished with finely detailed horizontal Ormolu Champlevé mounts with light and dark blue colored inlays. Four reeded Ormolu columns sit above with circular bottom laurel bands and decorative Corinthian capitals. The two leveled top shelf is decorated in the same manner with the same elegant Champlevé and Ormolu mounts on all four sides. A most stately and unique pedestal. *Top and base are the same length and width.
