About the Item

A captivating vintage 20th century French hand-carved natural onyx pedestal, sculpted to reveal marbelized swirls of mocha, gray, and white–imparting texture to the smooth column. The flat top surface elevates sculptural works of art to a safe height as well as vases or plants. As the profile of the column narrows at the top, the shaft is given definition–and a little surprise–by the addition of brass rings to separate it from the capital and base.
