About the Item

A sensational and most impressive pair of French mid 19th century patinated wood and Giltwood Torchière pedestals. Each stunning pedestal is raised by a triangular base with an elegant Giltwood twisted ribbon designed edge all above toupie shaped supports. Above are three scrolled supports decorated by richly carved acanthus leaves while surrounding the central fut. At the base of the central fut is a handsome egg and dart border below the palmette band. Each side displays a draped design with laurel branches and musical instruments. Above are superb rams heads with berried laurel wreaths amidst draped garlands and additional acanthus leaves. The circular Vert de Patricia marble tops are supported above fanciful Giltwood laurel bands with crossed ribbon designs. Top Dimensions: L: 12" x D: 12" Base Dimensions: L: 16.5" x D: 16.5"
