About the Item
This is a Pair of Louis XVI Style Marble and Giltwood Pedestals. It depicts a round beige marble tops framed with giltwood over a tripod made of cabriole legs decorated with hand carved acanthus leaves in the top and bottom area. The legs end in “hooves”. The aprons of the pedestals are adorned with a hand carved garland made of S-scrolls. Another also hand carved garlands made of flowers ( Roses and Impatients Walleriana ) and leaves come out from the apron and go around it. A hand carved gilt wood column decorated also with acanthus leaves in the top and bottom support also the top of the pedestal. The cabriole legs and these columns end in a round wood base with side borders also adorned with carving of leaves.
