About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning pair of early 20th century circa 1920s French marble and gilt bronze pedestal pillars with hand painted porcelain bodies depicting lovers in a rural setting These are quite simply the most decorative pillars I have ever seen. Usually these are relatively simple pieces designed as pedestals for flowers and antiques, not this pair, they start and finish with solid Italian marble, the decorative sections of the pillars are gilt bronze and the main bodies are some kind of very strong porcelain, most likely they are applied over a metal hollow body Condition wise is very fine indeed, there will be some age related patina marks here and there but mostly they are exquisite examples Dimensions: Height 108.5cm Width 36cm Depth 36cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
