A striking pair of extra-large mid-century modern Gainey planters, crafted in California during the 1960s. Finished in a deep satin black glaze, these architectural pottery pieces embody the timeless appeal of California modernism. Each planter is signed Gainey on the underside and showcases the studio’s hallmark craftsmanship and sculptural simplicity. Perfect for indoor or outdoor use, these rare C-19 forms (19 3/8” W x 15” H) bring bold proportion and understated elegance to any modern, minimalist, or brutalist environment.
Both planters are in good vintage condition with some calcium deposits and surface wear consistent with age. No drainage holes.
