About the Item

A most decorative and unique Italian 19th century Baroque st. patinated wood and Giltwood planter. The planter is raised on mottled feet below a scalloped shaped frieze with a beautiful Giltwood band. At the front center is an impressive and finely carved pierced Giltwood satyr mask set on a patinated background and flanked by recessed carved circular patterns and rich rosettes with a painted red central cabochon. Above is the original and removable pewter insert. All original gilt and patina throughout. Available with matching original mirror, item# 8045
