About the Item

An impressive and high quality Italian 19th century Renaissance st. white Carrara and Gris St. Anne marble birdbath/planter. This stunning birdbath is raised on a triangular Gris St. Anne marble base with mottled edges below handsome lion paw feet flanked by swaging garlands of fruits tied with bows. Above is a circular egg and dart band below the twisted white Carrara marble support leading to a foliate designed capital. The intricately detailed vessel above displays a gadrooned base below a central wrap around band of crossed motifs accented with palmettes below a wonderfully turned band. Four wonderfully detailed rams heads surround the bowl while holding fruits in their mouths and connected to the egg and dart designed rim. Exceptional attention to detail throughout, and can be separated into three pieces for easy transportation.
