About the Item

An antique Japanese Meiji-period bronze jardinière, decorated with four cartouches depicting warrior figures. The sides are embellished with stylized lion masks grasping detachable, bamboo-form ring handles. The base features a finely cast dragon amid swirling clouds. Retaining its original deep reddish-brown patina, this piece is an excellent example of the decorative yet utilitarian bronze work produced during the Meiji era.
