About the Item

A stunning and extremely decorative pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and Porcelain de Paris centerpiece planters. Each planter is raised by elegant scrolled foliate legs with a lovely mottled design below richly chase foliate designs. At each side are the original and most exceptional hand painted fitted porcelain plaques of charming wonderfully executed hand painted birds with lovely vivid colors and wonderful attention to detail throughout. Each plaque is framed within a remarkable mottled ormolu border with fine beaded and wave like designs also repeated at the top band centering their original removable inserts.
