About the Item
An exquisite Scottish Regency style jardinieres or planter in the manner of William Trotter, circa 19th Century. Constructed from mahogany with a parcel-gilt and ebonized finish. Features a circular basin with a border of cabochons above a shaped body with gilt leaves on a foliate and scroll carved tripod support with a tripartite plinth base. A very similar pair was sold at Christies in 1996 with an estimated value of 15,000-20,000.
