This vintage faux bois pottery planter is a highly sculptural decorative vessel inspired by natural tree bark and woodland forms. Cylindrical in shape, the planter features deeply modeled faux bois relief that mimics twisting vines, gnarled roots, and layered bark textures wrapping around the exterior. These raised organic elements contrast beautifully with recessed terracotta panels that display hand-incised abstract and foliate motifs, punctuated by small pinhole perforations typical of studio and decorative garden pottery.
The surface exhibits a richly aged patina with layered gray, ash, and stone tones over warm earthen clay, creating the appearance of weathered wood and stone.
