About the Item

Willy Guhl Diablo Planter - After opening his first design studio in 1939 at the age of 24, Swiss-born Willy Guhl (1915-2004) went on to become a leading industrial inventor, educator and furniture designer. He is best known for the extensive line of weather resistant outdoor pieces produced using a strong yet flexible "fibre cement" called Eternit. Amazing for indoor or outdoor use. This particular planter features a wide flared top, a gracefully cinched waist, and a broad, stable base. Its beautifully weathered patina—complete with subtle surface variations and aged character—adds authenticity and charm, making it a perfect statement piece for collectors, designers, and lovers of modernist decor. The interior shows natural wear consistent with age and outdoor use, enhancing its sculptural, vintage appeal.
