About the Item

A late 18th century French mahogany library steps with a fixed A-frame form, stepped treads, and an integrated handrail support. The structure shows through-tenon joinery, shaped side supports and unusual scalloped carved step fronts with a warm surface finish visible throughout the rails, treads, and stretcher framework. This unusual form is both utilitarian and architectural.
