Pair of Antique Terracotta Figures by John Matthews. A pair of Terracotta models of Bacchantes sculpted by John Matthews. Both statues are situated on integral circular socles impressed with the maker’s mark: JOHN MATTHEWS ROYAL POTTERY WESTON SUPER MARE. An example of the female statue, also known as The huntress can be found in the collection of North Somerset Council. They are dated between 1871 – 1888. Additional Dimensions Male Height 146 cm Width 52 cm Depth 45 cm.
