This particularly fine and rare 18th century wall fountain / font is carved from richly figured Breccia marble, known as Breccia Nouvelle, quarried in the south of France. A true architectural jewel, this authentic antique piece embodies the refinement and craftsmanship of the late Ancien Régime period.
The marble displays a luxurious polychrome palette of deep charcoal greys, warm terracotta reds, soft blush tones, ivory fragments and subtle mineral veining. The natural brecciated structure creates a vibrant, mosaic-like surface that captures and reflects light beautifully. When installed in a powder room, hallway or private gallery, the polished basin softly mirrors ambient light, creating a warm, elegant and atmospheric glow.
