Originating from rural France, this beautifully carved stone trough would have originally been used in a rural setting, possibly at a dairy farm, or estate courtyard. Hand-hewn from a single block of stone, it was carved with a broad flared base and thick rounded rim. The surface is richly weathered with decades of use leaving a soft, authentic patina.
Its generous oval form and robust construction make it highly versatile — ideal as a statement garden planter or perhaps a water feature. The natural wear and chisel marks, adds to its character and authenticity.
