About the Item

A substantial hand-thrown terracotta planter decorated in an Etruscan Revival black-figure style, featuring ochre-yellow figural scenes of deer, birds, and stylized foliage arranged in a continuous frieze. The black-slip ground is bordered by painted geometric bands and a molded rope-twist rim, echoing classical Italic pottery forms. Interior unglazed with original drainage holes. Wear, flaking, and paint losses consistent with age. A bold decorative piece with strong neoclassical and antiquity-inspired character.
