About the Item

A striking and most unique pair of French 19th century Neo-Classical st. Sévres Porcelain and Ormolu urns. Each stunning cobalt blue Porcelain urn is raised on four handsome scrolled Ormolu legs with pawed feet. An impressive Ormolu cage surrounds the Sévres Porcelain body with rosettes accenting the intersection of each band. Above are handsome and highly detailed lion heads with twisted rings in their mouths, and joined by richly chased floral garlands. The rim showcases a beautifully reeded Ormolu band below the Porcelain lid topped with a foliate and berried finial. A original gilt throughout.

A stunning and extremely decorative true pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Sèvres porcelain and ormolu lidded urns. Each urn is raised by a square ormolu base with concave corners, decorated with fitted decorative interlocking designs and a fine wrap around beaded band. The beautifully shaped vase displays a lovely lightly curved design decorated with exceptional wonderfully executed hand painted floral designs and striking gold tooled patterns. At the center is a circular reserve with a charming finely detailed cherub holding flowers amidst a ribbon flanked by beautiful cornucopias and lovely foliate designs set on a striking gold tooled background. Impressive scrolled acanthus leaf ormolu handles lead up each side with unique berries and lovely beaded trim centering the elegantly curved neck with a most decorative mottled and beaded wrap around band at the rim.
