About the Item

Crafted in France circa 1850, this exquisite pair of antique arched stained glass windows exemplifies mid-19th-century artistry from the Napoleon III period. Each panel features a richly colored composition with a central rosette medallion surrounded by foliate and scroll motifs rendered in deep cobalt, ruby red, forest green, and amber hues. The intricate design is further enhanced by hand-painted details and delicate lead caming, all framed within their original iron casings for structural integrity. The windows showcase the refined elegance of the Second Empire aesthetic, combining symmetry and opulence with a restrained palette that diffuses light beautifully. Their elongated arched form makes them ideal for placement as transoms, interior architectural accents, or decorative wall panels. A superb addition to any interior seeking authentic antique character and color. Both panels remain in fair overall condition commensurate with age and use. In one corner, as shown in photos, you can see a crack. Measures: 15.5” W x 28” H.
