Art Deco No. 1A Kodak Camera Box in Multicolor Enamel by Walter Dorwin Teague
By Walter Dorwin Teague
Located in New York, NY
This striking Art Deco Kodak No. 1A Gift Camera Box is a beautifully designed collector’s piece from circa 1930 by Walter Dorwin Teague, showcasing signature elements of the era’s bold aesthetic. Crafted with exquisite multicolor enamel accents and sleek polished nickel, the camera box embodies a fusion of elegance, functionality, and modern geometric design that defined the Art Deco movement. The hues of the piece resonate with staggering beauty and harmony, with a deep oxblood red hues in bold rectilinear shapes sumptuously paired with sienna and a partially concealed circle of vermillion crimson that anchors the more subdued tones with a bright and expressive contrast. Alongside the sleek polished nickel framework in stunning condition, this piece is notable for both material and conceptual design from the period, with a lovely ebonized finish on the side surfaces of the box. Designed not only as a practical photographic device but also as a statement of style, this Kodak camera box was marketed as a luxurious gift item. Whether treasured as a unique decorative object or a nostalgic nod to early 20th-century camera...

Vest Pocket Kodak Strut Folding Roll Film Medium Format Camera 1912-1934
By Eastman Kodak
Located in Reading, Berkshire
Vest Pocket Kodak Strut Folding Roll Film Medium Format Camera With A blla Bearing Shutter Uses No A 127 Film Fitted With A. f/7.7 Anastigmat lens, Serviced by Kodak Limited London 1952 (stamp inside) The Vest Pocket Kodak (VPK), also known as the Soldier's Kodak, is a line of compact folding cameras introduced by Eastman Kodak in April 1912 and produced until 1934, when it was succeeded by the Kodak Bantam. Because the VPK uses 127 film, it is more compact than contemporary folding cameras using 120 film and larger sheet film formats offered by Kodak; measuring approximately 12×6.3×2.7 cm when stowed, it could be carried in a vest pocket, as the name suggests. Frank Hurley, official photographer of Sir Ernest Shackleton's 1914 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, salvaged a VPK and three rolls of film from the sinking of the expedition ship Endurance with the loss of most of his photographic equipment. He used it to shoot 38 images of the successful return of the party to civilisation.[24] A VPK was carried during the 1924 British Mount Everest expedition and may offer proof that climbers George Mallory...

Roseline Koener mixed-media 2002 About the artist: My adventurous journey as an artist has been focused on accessing the magic pool of vibrant colors and life forces deep within me. I marvel at the infinite richness and divine beauty of colors, sounds, patterns, textures, and fragrances of Mother Nature. I am inspired and amazed by the powerful and dynamic cycles of life, which generate newness and oneness. The circular movements of planets and every cell, the miraculous growth of plants and mountains, the morning’s eclosion of roses, and the buoyancy of ocean waves fascinate me. Artists and musicians like Klee, Matisse, Tombly, Motherwell, Frankenthaler, Anatsui, Bach, Hafiz, Rumi, Hildegard von...
