A wonderful example of an Akha Tribe spice basket, with a stunning woven pattern on all sides and crafted from a mix of rattan. This basket was once used to store precious spices and/or tea leaves. Amid hill tribe culture, men are most often the Basket makers, women more often than not are the textile weavers. Rattan is sourced and cut into various sizes to form a stunning range of baskets that include carrying baskets, food
textile baskets. The top and bottom sides are crafted from wood with rattan edges. These wooden sides are contrasted by a fine and tightly knit weave on all sides. A wonderful decorative object certain to invoke conversation.
