About the Item
This Chinese reed basket from the early 1900s was crafted using willow reeds that are painted in red and black. Mantou baskets were used to steam Mantou buns, a white and soft steamed Bun typical of Northern China. This tray is perfect to be used as a decorative tray or basket. It has aged over the years, present in the fading of the red pigment and reed fibres.
