About the Item

A large and characterful English wicker laundry basket dating to the early 20th century, featuring original cast iron wheels and handwoven willow construction. The front is boldly stenciled with black lettering, once indicating its use for hospital dressings, offering a striking visual detail and historical charm. Equipped with sturdy side handles for lifting and maneuvering, this basket was designed for function in an institutional or industrial setting. The lid, while no longer attached, still rests neatly atop the piece and can easily be removed or displayed slightly ajar.
