Dating to the 1900s, this French waste paper basket consists of two bound books with tan leather and gold embossing. Identical spines both read Lamartine Oeuvres Choisies, which is a compilation book first published in 1840, by the French poet and politician, Alphonse de Lamartine. Lamartine began composing the works in 1790, before completing the set in 1820.
