About the Item

A Chinese late Qing Dynasty period varnished bamboo basket from the early 20th century with rattan tied handles. Created in China during the late Qing Dynasty period in the early years of the 20th century, this bamboo basket was likely used as a hat basket. It features a circular slatted body topped with a flaring mouth. Two handles are secured to one another through woven rattan. The entire piece is made of carved bamboo, varnished in a brown hue. This late Qing Dynasty period Chinese varnished bamboo basket from the early 20th century will make for a charming decorative addition to any home, placed in a living room, kitchen or dining room.
