About the Item
This is an extremely rare presentation basket from the Tutsi people of Rwanda. This pyece is exceptional in its rarity because of its size. The piece would have been woven around 1940 . Used only for ceremonial purposes this item would have been used to present a young Tutsi girls wedding garments and handed down through generations. It has been a much loved piece evidenced by its ecceptionally good condition. A glorious statement piece in any environment. Decorative and collectable.
