Delicate and whimsical, this vintage decorative ceramic bowl offers a woodland fantasy. Made in Belgium in the 1920s, the piece is shaped like a basket: but a basket composed of leaves, twigs and flowers, as if the plants of the forest had spontaneously decided to transfigure themselves into this unexpected form. The beautiful detail of the ceramic—the twisting branching of the handle, the intricate veins of the leaves—gives credence to this fanciful idea, while the soft pastel tones of the glazes add a dreamy finishing touch.
