About the Item

Rare and decorative triangular bowl by legendary designer Marianne Starck for the Danish ceramic workshop Michael Andersen Søn (MA&S). Manufactured ca 1950s to 1960s. The belongs to the so-called Tribal series and shows a stylized rooster made with the sgraffito technique. It shows a great contrast between the white glazed parts and the unglazed very dark brown, almost black clay. On the inside of the bowl the motif is shaped by removing the glaze with a loop tool and in this way leaving tactile traces of this process. On bottom marked the MA&S hallmark and the model number 561. Very good vintage condition No, chips, cracks, crazing or repairs Some normal surface marks on the outside
