Antique wooden dough bowl, Konebachi. - Hand-carved from the one solid wood piece , circa 1870s - 1900s. dough bowls were widely owned by the ordinary Japanese households, the most typical usage is for kneading the dough for rice cake or noodles. especially, this piece is huge, probably for occasional cooking use such as local festivals or seasonal family reunion. also, there are iron handles attached to the side to raise bring the bowl. it's quite unique feature as for dough bowls. the loss, crack, and the grains deepned by the age, bringing the wabi sabi touch. Actual item weight : lb (11.2kg) *** We're eco-friendly, organic-oriented vintage wood furniture fitting seller.
