About the Item

A substantial hand-formed copper vat with a deep rounded profile and expressive surface character. The vessel shows a warm, time-softened copper tone layered with areas of verdigris, oxidation, and dark burnishing from long and practical use. The form is anchored by two forged iron handles, each mounted on riveted copper brackets and shaped with the gentle irregularity typical of handwork. The interior retains a dramatic wash of green and blue mineral deposits, while the exterior displays distinct vertical repair lines and evidence of hammering, use, and age. The underside is heavily darkened, contributing to the piece’s sculptural presence. Disclaimer: Please note that the age, origin, and materials stated in this listing are best estimates based on visual assessment and available information. As with all vintage and antique items, such details cannot be guaranteed with absolute accuracy. Colors may also vary slightly from their appearance in photos due to differences in monitor display settings and lighting conditions during photography.
