About the Item

Alison wilding Ceramic sculpture, 1999 Produced by Royal Doulton, 2000 Porcelain Imprinted stamp 'AW 2000 Royal Doulton' A usable table object, or a sculpture to place on a shelf or hang on the wall... 'I don't know if this piece is functional or not, and there is no definitive way of placing it. Its transformation from prototype to fine china has given it a translucency so it has become an object that holds light.' Alison Wilding, 1999. Produced in collaboration with the Tate Gallery and Homebase, with support from the Arts Council of England, this was one of nine designs by leading British artists and sculptors for the "At home With Art" project - conceived by the artist Colin Painter, in an attempt to bring contemporary art into domestic life. The objects ranged from pure sculpture to functional items for the home. Artists involved in the project were Richard Wentworth, Anish Kapoor, Antony Gormley, Alison Wilding, Permindar Kaur, David Mach, Angela Bulloch, Richard Deacon and Tony Cragg. We have three of these unusual, rare objects available, offered either individually or as a set. Two have their original boxes/packaging. All three are unused. Discount and combined shipping cost for purchase of more than one item.
