About the Item
Wonderful large wooden bowl dating from the 19th Century. This bowl would have been hand turned from a very large piece of English Elm wood. The wood, over time and with use, has mellowed to a light cloudy appearance that aged Elm wood is renowned for. This would have originally be used as either a dairy bowl, or possibly a wash bowl.
Aged over time, there are cracks and old worm holes to the wood. The size of the bowl makes it an incredibly impressive piece.
A truly magnificent piece with wonderful patina and colour.
