About the Item

A fine antique topographical porcelain waste bowl. By Doccia porcelain manufactory circa 1820. With painted enamel topographical scenes, one different to each side. Decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt borders in the neoclassical taste. Reference: See the Victoria Albert Museum Collection No. C. 18208A-1919 for a comparison (and an extensive note of Doccia topographical porcelains). Simply a wonderful rare Doccia porcelain cup saucer! Date: 1820 - 1830 Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no cracks or repairs. Condition Details: There is a chip to the rim, the the interior edge of the rim is unglazed. Otherwise, there are some fine and light surface scratches and other signs of light wear consistent with age. Maker: Doccia Marks: Marked with a gold star and an impressed 'P' to the base.
