About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown white textured surface Italian art glass square shaped bowl. The piece is documented, and signed by designer Alfredo Barbini. The signature reads "Barbini Murano" on a bottom corner of the bowl, and dates to the 1970s. The piece has been created in the “Scavo” technique. It is made with an acid textured outside surface, creating a crackle pattern. It looks like ice frost on a glass window. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or side table. Use it as a catchall, candy dish or fill it with fresh flowers as a low bowl for a small table. You will be able to showcase it as a decorative piece in any room. Mid-century era. Late Mid-century era. Measures: 5 7/8" long x 5 7/8" wide x 3" tall.

Alfredo Barbini
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
