About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown sky blue, white stripes and gold flecks Italian art glass decorative bowl. Documented to Master glass artist and designer Alfredo Barbini, circa 1950s. Published in his catalog. The bowl has 2 folded areas on the rim, and is profusely covered in gold leaf throughout the inside. The white stripes create an alternating pattern with the base color. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or coffee table. Use it as a catchall, candy dish or ashtray. Mid-century era. Measures 6 1/4" long x 6" wide x 2 1/4" high.

Alfredo Barbini
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
