About the Item
Beautifully designed and glazed, this striking, large bowl depicts a blue and green chameleon at its center that is climbing a highly stylized Art Deco foliate element, framed by a wide, flat rim decorated with a complex, geometric chevron pattern. The bowl was made by Harald Folmer Gross for the Knabstrup ceramic works in Denmark. Gross is largely known for his large urns and jars, so this kind of highly decorated bowl is unusual in his oeuvre. The bowl is signed and well marked on the bottom.
