Beautiful small footed bowl turned from richly grained masur birch, made during the first half of the 19th century in the Karl Johan (Swedish Empire) style, circa 1830s. The warm, glowing surface shows off the unique patterns of the burl wood, and the form is simple yet elegant with turned detailing around the base.
Lovely wear and patina consistent with age and use.
