Vintage 20th Century Chinese Export Hand-Painted Tobacco Leaf Bowl with Gold Rim. Bowl. Bowl features richly enameled, multicolored overlapping leaves in green, turquoise, orange, blue, and purple accented with blooming flowers and gilded highlights. The interior mirrors the exterior design.
The Tobacco Leaf design originated in China during the Qing Dynasty, circa 18th century, produced primarily for export to Europe and American markets. This pattern was one of the most celebrated and sought-after designs in Chinese porcelain made for Western markets. 7.75" in diameter. No cracks or chips.
This decorative bowl functions equally well as a centerpiece, serving dish, or to display objects. It brings a touch of chinoiserie elegance and historic charm to any interior.
