About the Item
Early 20th Century Centerpiece or Bowl in Patinated Copper with Dragons, early 20th century.
This copper bowl has a striking and sculptural appearance. It features a wide, shallow basin with a twisted rope-like rim. The bowl rests on three zoomorphic legs, each shaped like an animal's paw, transitioning into heads that resemble mythological or fantastical beasts - possibly lions or dragons, projecting outward from the rim. Slightly dark and grim, but also very elegant.
The wonderful dark patina and oxidized greenish patches on the surface suggest natural aging of the copper. Great patina.
