About the Item

A refined and collectible porcelain and pure silver bowl designed and handcrafted in 2006 by Emilia Castillo in Taxco, Mexico. The piece is fully hand-incised and decorated with pure silver, showcasing Castillo’s signature motifs of branching trees, delicate foliage, and expressive birds in flight. The underside is hand-signed and dated “Emilia Castillo, Plata, México, 06.” Emilia Castillo, daughter of Don Antonio Castillo—founder of the iconic Los Castillo workshop—continues one of the most important silversmithing lineages in Mexican design. Her work bridges the traditional techniques of Taxco with contemporary organic elegance, honoring the region’s enduring legacy of silver artistry. Created in Taxco, Guerrero, a city celebrated for centuries of silver mining and handwork, this bowl represents the deep cultural and artistic heritage that shaped Mexico’s global reputation for fine craftsmanship.
