About the Item

Beautiful and rare, vintage Murano hand blown clear glass and iridescent Italian art glass conch seashell sculptural bowl. The piece is documented to designer Ercole Barovier, for the Barovier e Toso company circa 1940s. It is created in the "A Grosse Costolature" design. The surface has a light iridescence. The shell has a ribbed surface, with pinched rim at each fold. Also has a decorative curled piece at the back end that can act as a handle. On the middle of the handle there is a smoky line that is inside of the glass. Mentioned for accuracy, and priced accordingly. You can see it on the photos. Would make a great display piece on any coffee table, dresser or credenza. Use it as a catchall, or candy dish. You will be able to showcase it as a decorative piece in any room. Mid-century era. Measures 7 3/4" long x 7 3/4" wide x 5 1/4" tall. Gorgeous piece!   Literature: Ercole Barovier 1889-1974 Vetrario Muranese, Marsilio Editori. Illustrates technique with similar samples.
